The Independent EECP Provider Directory — Graded & Verified

Find EECP Treatment Near You

EECP is FDA-cleared, Medicare-covered, and clinically proven — yet most patients who need it are never told it exists. This directory was built to change that.

Why This Directory Exists

I Was Told “If You Live That Long.”
I Left Anyway.

In January 2021, at 47 years old, I was admitted to a hospital with a 100% blocked left anterior descending artery — the vessel cardiologists call the “widow maker.” The recommendation was triple bypass surgery. When I asked about alternatives, my cardiologist looked at me and said: “If you live that long.” Then he walked out.

I left against medical advice. I had spent the weekend in that hospital bed reading everything I could find about EECP — Enhanced External Counterpulsation. The evidence was substantial. The access was nearly impossible. In the third most populous state in America, I could find roughly fifteen providers, and almost none willing to use it as a first-line strategy.

So I bought a machine for $22,000. I used it daily for five years. I now have more than 600 hours of cumulative treatment — more than almost any other person in the United States. I run faster at 52 than I did at 40. My wife Jennifer, who navigated traumatic brain injury, scleroderma, and lymphoma, has experienced her own measurable improvements.

“EECP does not generate implant revenue. It cannot be billed in fifteen minutes. In a system organized around procedural throughput, those qualities make it inconvenient rather than compelling — regardless of the clinical merits.”

This Directory

I built EECPLocator.com because finding a provider was nearly impossible — and because the difficulty of access is exactly why my mother never got the chance to try a different path. Every listing is independently researched. No provider pays for placement or influences their grade.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything patients ask before searching for an EECP provider.

EECP is a non-invasive outpatient treatment for chronic stable angina and heart failure. Inflatable cuffs wrapped around the calves, thighs, and buttocks inflate and deflate in sync with the heartbeat, increasing blood flow to the heart and stimulating the growth of collateral blood vessels. It is FDA-cleared and typically delivered in 35 one-hour sessions over 7 weeks.

Medicare covers EECP for patients with chronic stable angina who meet specific criteria (typically Class III–IV angina refractory to medical therapy). Most major commercial insurers also cover it. Coverage for heart failure indications varies by insurer. Always verify with your specific plan and provider before starting treatment.

The standard course of EECP is 35 sessions of one hour each, typically scheduled 5 days per week over 7 weeks. Some patients receive a second course if symptoms return. Your provider will recommend a schedule based on your diagnosis and response to treatment. If you are traveling for treatment, Waking Dreams Wellness Retreat offers 2 sessions per day, 7 days a week — allowing you to complete the full 35-session course in just 18 days.

EECP is FDA-cleared for chronic stable angina, unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, and heart failure. Some providers also offer it for conditions like erectile dysfunction, diabetic neuropathy, and general fatigue — though these are off-label uses. Our grading system rewards providers who treat the full range of conditions both on and off label and position EECP as a treatment to be tried as early as possible rather than using it as a last resort.

Off-label means using an FDA-cleared treatment for a condition beyond its original cleared indications. EECP is FDA-cleared for cardiac conditions, but decades of clinical use and published research have demonstrated benefit for a much wider range of conditions. Providers currently using EECP off-label include treatment for diabetic neuropathy, erectile dysfunction, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and cognitive decline, Long COVID, chronic kidney disease, PAD (peripheral arterial disease), fibromyalgia, tinnitus, mold toxicity, restless leg syndrome, retinopathy, stroke recovery, lung disease, Raynaud’s syndrome, chronic wounds, hair loss, autoimmune conditions, and general anti-aging and longevity protocols. Off-label use is legal and common in medicine — physicians use their clinical judgment to apply treatments where evidence supports benefit. Our grading system gives credit to providers who recognize and offer EECP’s full therapeutic potential beyond its cardiac clearance.

Our grades reflect two dimensions: Indication Breadth (how many conditions the provider treats with EECP) and Cardiac Posture (how prominently EECP features in their cardiology practice). Grade A providers offer the most comprehensive EECP programs with strong cardiac focus. Grade D providers offer EECP but only after medications, stents, bypass and other procedures have failed for cardiac conditions and don’t offer it for anything other than cardiac conditions. See the full methodology on the About page.
